Fablab
UDIT has had a state-of-the-art digital manufacturing and research laboratory since October 2016. This project was born out of the need to transform the creativity of our students into real projects.
Thanks to these facilities, UDIT students will be able to prototype their designs, investigate the use of materials and produce real objects.
The UDIT Fab Lab is equipped with digital fabrication equipment and machinery such as 3D and sintering printers, thermoforming machine, laser cutter, an oscilloscope, digital embroidery/knitting machine, electronic welding kits, a CNC digital machining centre, design computers and the revolutionary Japanese virtual design technology Shima Seiki.
In July 2017, UDIT’s Fab Lab was internationally accredited and included in the Fab Foundation’s Fab Labs network, an organisation that was born at M.I.T (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and currently has more than 1,000 digital fabrication labs around the world.
A revolutionary technological space created thanks to the collaboration of RS Components Iberia, a leading company in the distribution of electronic components in Spain. An educational cooperation agreement between the two institutions to support innovation and university experimentation with the donation of components, work kits and the loan of a robotics arm for student training.
The UDIT Fab Lab is freely accessible to students upon reservation, and is also used for practical classes and specialised workshops.
Materioteca
UDIT is the only university centre in Spain that has a materioteca (material library).
It is an exhibition space of 150 avant-garde materials selected by an international jury of experts – with a rotation throughout the year – of innovative references oriented to Design.
UDIT’s material library is classified into several categories: polymers, ceramics, glass, metals, cements, natural and derived materials. In addition, students can access the online archive with more than 7,500 materials and transformation processes.
A catalogue that will allow you to incorporate the latest cutting-edge materials into your academic and professional projects.
All this has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between UDIT and Material ConneXion, the largest international centre for advice, research and consultation on materials.
Material ConneXion participates as an expert consultant on product development and the application of new materials in R&D&I projects with national and international companies with which UDIT is already collaborating, as well as new collaborations that will be carried out.
The objective is to provide differentiated value to students through the transfer of knowledge in the field of materials, enabling the creation of better products, with greater added value.
MediaLab
UDIT provides its students with a multimedia laboratory equipped with professional audiovisual production equipment: Canon, Nikon and JVC digital video and photography cameras, spotlights and flashes, microphones and sound recorders, poles, chroma screens, tripods, video software, etc.
A space at the forefront of technology to give life to the ideas of students so that they can create and produce audiovisual content and experiment in the different areas of Design.

UDIT provides students and teachers with bibliographic funds for consultation in the reading room and for loan. The collection includes books, magazines, cd-roms.

The value of this independent figure is in their ability to contribute to the improvement of relationships and develop a positive climate in the day-to-day life of our UDIT environment.
The University Ombudsman promotes cooperation and helps students’ personal development by making recommendations or suggestions, which will never be binding for the resolution of the issues raised or for the improvement of quality.
It acts as a mediator to always help in the resolution of conflicts, provided that this is accepted by the parties involved, and guides you on the actions to be taken before the different administrative bodies.
The actions of the University Ombudsman are not subject to the imperative mandate of any university body and are governed by the principles of independence and autonomy, impartiality, weighting and respect for confidentiality, as set out in the Law.
