Dra. Valerie de la Dehesa Barbé

D. in Fine Arts at the U.C.M., she alternates her artistic creation, curating, with academic research and teaching at the U.R.J.C. as associate professor in the area of aesthetics and theory of the arts and visiting professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, CES Felipe II de Aranjuez. Trained in the area of photography and image in the U.S.A. at the I.C.P. International Center of Photography and at the professional film school of N.Y.U. New York University. Photojournalist for the newspaper El País, as well as other international media.
Curator, coordinator and manager of exhibitions, seminars, conferences and workshops on contemporary art in institutions such as the Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez in the Casa del Lector in Matadero, Museo Vostell in Cáceres, MNAC in Cádiz, Hangar in Barcelona, Harinera in Zaragoza. She publishes academic publications on the idea of women and plants, now through her experiences and research as an artist, on archaeology and its relationship with performance.
