María Tamames Sobrino

Graduate in Fashion Design and Master in Textile Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Textile Technological Institute AITEX; her professional career revolves around the relationship between art and textile design. She situates her activity within the context of contemporary culture, exploring the expressive possibilities of textile fibres in relation to other disciplines and materials, and explores ways of convergence between innovation, sustainability and craft processes. Her work as a developer of textile materials includes the Belgian firm Jean Paul Knott and Ecoalf, a world leader in sustainable fashion.
Currently, she combines her coordination and teaching work on the Fashion Design Degree at ESNE with her research activity. She has made sustainable development and innovation the focus of her studies.
He is also a member of the Néxodos collective, in which he actively participates in disseminating the creation of projects that link artistic creation and the rural environment. To investigate their footprint, the links they generate, and to analyse their impact.
