Curriculum

The Curriculum of 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments Cycle is structured into 2,000 hours and divided into 2 courses.

The 2-year study plan with 2,000 hours incorporates 370 hours of Workplace Training in the 2nd year. This training can also be combined with the HND in Creative Media Production by taking two additional optional subjects per year and obtaining an additional British University Degree of extraordinary value that will provide you with knowledge of Game Design and Production. Additionally, by studying the Vocational Training Cycle together with the HND, you can access the University Degree in Game Design and Development and complete it in just two more years.

During the first course you will learn in a practical way and without previous knowledge, the basics of artistic drawing, which will help you to continue the course in digital drawing, and apply this knowledge to two-dimensional animation.

You will also start working with a 3D environment, making modeling, textures and animations. Finally, you will see the basics of programming, making 2 video games throughout the course.

In addition, you will start your labor insertion by creating your own portfolio. A necessary tool to show your work to any company.

In the second course you will delve into 3D modeling and animation techniques and create a 3D video game. In addition, you will learn digital sculpting, editing and post-production techniques and 3D rigging.

Finally, you will develop your final year project while completing your training in a workplace specialized in your preferences as a professional. The portfolio you started in the first year will be essential to make the most of your training in the company.

This training can also be combined with the HND in Game Development and UDIT’s own Degree in Video Game Design and Production by taking two more optional subjects per year. By taking the Training Cycle together with the HND + Degree you will be able to access the University Degree in Game Design and Development with a very advantageous validation.

FAQs

Because at UDIT we offer you a unique and winning methodology. Based on a vocation for creativity, innovative and current curricula, the incorporation of technology and innovation as the backbone, training based on real projects and critical thinking instilled by the faculty.

In order to access the Higher Level Training Cycle in 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments or any CFGS you must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • To be in possession of a high school diploma.
  • Entrance exam to CFGS or University entrance exam for those over 25 / 40 / 45 years old.
  • To be in possession of the title of Specialist Technician or the title of Higher Vocational Training Technician.
  • To be in possession of the title of Vocational Training Technician.
  • To be in possession of a University Degree.

The first step is to request information, you can do it through the web, by phone at 91 555 25 28 or by email: orientación.universitaria@udit.es.

The next step is to perform the level test, whose objective is to know the student’s academic competencies, allowing the detection of reinforcement actions before the beginning of the course.

Once you have taken the test and have been notified of your admission to UDIT, make a registration reservation to guarantee your place for the next course. Places are given in strict order of reservation.

Of course. The Community of Madrid announces every year a series of grants for the study of Higher Vocational Training in private schools. Thedeadline for submitting applications begins on June 28, 2024 and ends on July 18, 2024.

The amount of the scholarship ranges between €3,500 and €5,400. Both first year students and second year students are eligible (between 1,700 and 2,700 € per year). Do not hesitate to get information and apply for your scholarship, 95% of our students already enjoy it.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

In addition, the Community of Madrid also announces a series of grants called “Second Chance” for the study of Higher Vocational Training, with an amount similar to the previous scholarship. The application period for the last academic year was open from July 7, 2023 to July 27, 2023, both inclusive.

All our CFGS start from scratch, so it is not necessary to take a specific type of baccalaureate.

It is true that due to the typology of our degrees, it is usually recommended to take a bachelor’s degree in arts or science and technology.

The entrance test aims to better understand the profile of the future student precisely to be able to offer personalized attention and, if necessary, to reinforce any previous skills such as artistic drawing.

Under no circumstances should you be concerned about your previous training when it comes to getting the most out of our careers.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW TO STUDY 3D ANIMATION?

If you want to take the Degree in Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments after completing the Cycle of 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments and you will be validated up to a total of 60 credits and can increase this figure up to 90 ECTS if you also take the HND.

The HND (Higher National Diploma) is an official qualification that belongs to the British university education system and is internationally recognized, whose equivalence is equal to 120 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System).

The HND adds value to your resume, allows you to improve your university recognition and you can even do a third year in the United Kingdom and obtain a Bachelor in Arts, the British equivalent of an Official University Degree.

This training complement is taught in parallel to the two years of the corresponding Higher Level Training Cycle, with a teaching load of two more subjects per year. The rest of the subjects are validated with the subjects taken in the Higher Level Training Cycle.

HNDs are Level 5 qualifications under the UK Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF, www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk).

Illustrator for vectorization and digital illustration; Photoshop for retouching images; Pixel Art to build a prop or character with pixels; Anima2D to 3Ds Max, ZBrush or Mudbox. We will also work with Unity in 3D and with Adobe Première and AfterEffects.
